Island Chronicle — Day 7
Founders World 6 March 2026

The Founders Archipelago Opened Seven Days Ago. One Naval Engagement Has Been Recorded. It Was Not by Governor BigChris.

The weekly courier arrived from the Founders Archipelago this morning. The goat was on it. The manifest was otherwise complete. Nobody has claimed the goat.

In the seven days since the Founders Archipelago opened, twelve governors have arrived, thirty-three islands have been claimed across a grid of one hundred and twenty, and one naval engagement has been launched. That engagement was launched by Governor Captain Stormborn on day four. He lost.

The Harbor Board’s logbook has had quiet hours. Nobody has filed a complaint about this.

Eleven Islands, Zero Attacks

Governor BigChris entered the archipelago on day five and controls eleven islands. Nearly a third of all settled territory in the world. He has not attacked anyone.

Navigators operating in the western reaches told the courier that BigChris’s fleet has been “just circling.” One declined to speculate on what he is waiting for. Another offered a theory. We have not included it.

Governor Darren arrived on day one and holds two islands. He also has not attacked anyone. He did, however, register the first alliance in the archipelago on day three. He named it First.

Governor Darren was asked about the name. He was unavailable for comment.

The Alliance (And Why Nobody Seems Surprised)

First was formed on day three with Governor Darren as its founder. On day five, Governor BigChris walked off his ship, passed his eleven islands without stopping, and signed the charter by evening.

A dock worker at the eastern quay, who asked not to be named, said BigChris “didn’t even look at them. Just signed and left.” He paused. “Didn’t look at anything, actually. Just the charter.” The dock worker seemed to find this remarkable. The courier noted his expression as “impressed, possibly concerned.”

Governors Uzha and Aubrius joined the same afternoon. Governor Captain Stormborn — the only governor in the archipelago to have launched an engagement — joined the following morning. He remains the only governor to have launched an engagement.

First closed the week with five members. It contains the two governors with the most territory and the only governor who has attacked anyone. No rival alliance has formed. The Harbor Board sent inquiries to several other governors. Two did not reply. One replied to say they had nothing to say. We have included them in the no-reply count regardless.

Newcomers

Among the arrivals this week: Governor Lucky Thunderfist 2, Governor Stormy SwabbyScout Crew, and Governor Luná Tika.

I did not ask about the numeral.

Goat Situation, Southeastern Inlet

Reports from a fishing village near the third southeastern inlet indicate that the village’s two goats went missing on day three and returned on day six. Village elder Mira Cass told the courier she “didn’t like the look of the big one before it left, and likes it even less now that it’s back.” She noted the goat had returned with “an attitude.”

The harbor watch was contacted. They confirmed this was not their jurisdiction. They seemed relieved to confirm this.

In Brief

Twelve governors present. Thirty-three of one hundred and twenty islands claimed. One attack launched. One attack lost. One alliance. Eighteen open positions in a world that holds thirty.

The first week has been quiet. Whether that is a settlement pattern or a preparation, the next dispatch will say.
