The Dispatch That Described BigChris's Fleet as 'Just Circling' Was Filed on the Same Morning He Launched His First Attack
The courier from the Founders Archipelago arrived this morning without the goat. The quartermaster considers this a development worth recording. He has recorded it.
In the last dispatch, a navigator working the eastern passage described Governor BigChris’s fleet as “just circling.” That report was compiled on the sixth. Governor BigChris launched his first naval engagement on the sixth. The navigator has not amended his account. The Harbor Board has noted the timing and has no further comment.
Twenty-Eight
Governor BigChris has launched twenty-eight engagements since the last dispatch. His fleet controls eleven islands across the western reaches and has not, by any available evidence, paused.
Dock workers in the western harbor, quoted last week as impressed and “possibly concerned” by the outgoing fleet schedule, have since stopped counting departures. One told the courier he had tried again on the eighth and “gave up after the fourth.” He said this without complaint. He had, by all appearances, accepted the situation.
BigChris has won most of his engagements. The losses have been recorded. They do not appear to have changed anything.
Two Islands, Fourteen Attacks
Governor Darren launched his first engagement on the eighth. He has launched fourteen in two days, from two islands. The merchant at the central market who last week found the gap between Darren and the other governors “a bit rude” was asked if he wished to revise his description. He said he did not. He said the gap was now “structurally rude.” The courier included this.
Governor bhurek was the recipient of at least one of these engagements. He lost the defense. He has offered no public statement. The courier did not press him.
The Remaining Sixteen
The remaining sixteen governors present in the archipelago have launched zero engagements.
Zero. The Harbor Board has verified the figure.
Several are building. Several more are watching. One was observed at the same high window again on the ninth. He still declined to say what he saw. He looked, the courier noted, as though he was beginning to understand.
New Arrivals
Six governors have arrived since the last dispatch: vargat99, Asocial Chameleon, Buhnanah, Grinning Guppy, funkmaster, and Witty Wave. They have been entered in the formal registry. The Harbor Board extends the usual acknowledgements.
Governor Asocial Chameleon was noted at the arrivals desk as having several questions about the alliance registry. The clerk answered them. The clerk was thorough. This took some time. The clerk seemed content with this.
The Compact, Unchanged
The alliance called First, reported last week as five members, counts five members. Governors Darren, BigChris, Aubrius, Uzha, and Captain Stormborn. The two most active governors in the world account for all forty-two recorded engagements in this period. Both belong to First.
No rival alliance has formed. A trader at the central market said he had “heard something might be in discussion.” He said this confidently. He was unable to provide details. The courier did not wait.
Goat Situation, Southeastern Inlet
The goat from the fishing village near the third southeastern inlet, reported last week as having returned home with “an attitude,” was observed at the outer harbor on the ninth. The harbor watch filed a brief report. The report classified the goat as “not a security matter.” Village elder Mira Cass was contacted. She disputes this classification.
The dispute is ongoing. The harbor watch has declined to revisit it.
In Brief
Eighteen governors present in a world that accommodates thirty. Thirty-three of one hundred and twenty islands settled. No new colonisations recorded. Forty-two engagements launched in four days, all from two governors.
One week ago the count was one.
